Alumni Volunteer Opportunities
Lend Your Efforts to an Alumni Association Working Group
The Alumni Association has a number of working groups, all of which are dedicated to a specific area of support for the college and alumni community. Each working group is led by a member of the Alumni Association Board. For example, consider joining the Alumni Giving Council (AGC). Volunteers encourage financial support of the college through participation in the Fund for St. John’s. Contact the Alumni Association for more information .
Chapters
Alumni chapters are independent gatherings of like-minded alumni that offer a variety of vibrant programming, including seminars, cultural outings, wine tastings, and other social events. Joining or starting a chapter is a great way to stay in touch with other Johnnies in your area and continue the conversations that began in your very first semester at St. John’s.
Serve as a Class Chair for Homecoming
The primary function of the Class Chairs is to extend personalized touches to classmates to encourage their participation in Homecoming. As part of this outreach, Class Chairs work with their class to identify a preferred tutor shortlist for the all-alumni Homecoming seminar. The Alumni Engagement Office will support your selection by contacting the tutor to confirm their availability. Class chairs often also facilitate additional off-campus social events for their specific class. Should you be interested in serving this important volunteer role, please contact to learn about the process of obtaining contact information for your classmates.
Fall & Spring Event Support
The Alumni Engagement office recruits alumni volunteers to support the Annapolis Cup springtime event in Annapolis, and Homecoming on both campuses in the fall.
Support Admissions
Adopt a School
We are always looking for alums to adopt a high school in their area. Building relationships for the college through counselors and teachers at local high schools helps us extend our reach. Contact Natalie Blais for more information.
Represent St. John’s at a College Fair
The admissions office is always looking to reach more students, and you can help do this by becoming a St. John’s College alumni representative! Representing St. John’s College at a local school fair is a great way to help us with recruitment. Time commitments are minimal, but the impact can be huge. We need alumni to cover fairs for us in cities and towns all over the United States! For more information, contact Natalie Blais.
